Hi All,

Could someone give me directions to this restaurant please. :)

It isn't one we've tried but it seems to be getting some good reviews.

We're coming back to Puerto Pollensa at the beginning of Sept for the third time and we cant wait - yippee!

Thanks

Em

Heading towards the marina look for a street named EL CANO there is a pub on the corner of this street. Take the second on the left at CALLE JUAN DE LA COSA and on the left you will see the o lume sign

The pub you're looking for is the Imperial! A sing-along type of bar.

Smiddy,

Thanks, our first visit to PP some years back involved a visit with another couple of close friends and young daughter and friend aged 15 (both).

What a laugh, made a lot of friends that night and surfaced about 1800hours the next day!

Another year, again in the Imperial (medicinal purposes that night), a party was in full swing above. Fireworks, the lot, not sparklers, bloody great thunderflashes, excocet bangers etc.

Added to the ambience of the evening. Just like home.

regards

Jimbo

Hi emmski,

You should definitely try it - it stands out amongst a lot of the restaurants in PP and it used to amaze me that so many mediocre places were full when O Lume was quiet.

For that extra bit of walking, you get so much more.

My 3 daughters are just back from PP where they had a fantastic holiday with a very "Special" friend.
One of the highlights of their visit was their holiday was their visits to O'lume and Jaime (they plan to write their own reviews;) )
My directions for O'Lume is head out of town on the Pollensa road take the street opening across the road (on your left hand side heading out of town) from the Pharmacia walk towards the Spar shop on the right hand corner and turn up the side street at the Spar O'Lume is on the right hand side a few feet away.
Take care.

Have finally tried O Lume now that the evenings are colder and it's no longer desirable to sit outside.

Four of us tried it out on Saturday night and were very impressed with the food and service.

As it was the first time we had been, we all opted for the menu of the day - 19 euros including wine and coffee.

Starters - vegetable soup (delicious) or seafood salad (very nice)

Main Course - Merluza in a beautiful light lemon sauce plus fresh vegetables (beatifully done)

Pudding - panacotta (very light)

House wine - very average

Note of caution though - it was very, very smokey as it seemed that every other table was full of smokers.

We were suprised that smoking was permitted everywhere in the restaurant

Feel exactly the same re smoking. Unfortunately with the plastic curtains keeping the cold out it also keeps the smoke in with no where to go! Also we had a bad experience with the suckling pig which as we all know, is a definate No NO!!
it was dry and over cooked with unpalatable crackling - looked as if it had been standing for a while and heated up again. Lovely people there though, so will give it another go in the summer.

Smoking,

Suppose you get the same problem in any restaurant, it's just your luck on the night, can't say i'm happy with this half-baked non-smoking law they brought in. Up here in Scotland there's a blanket ban, no ifs, no buts(pardon the pun) you are not allowed to smoke in restaurants/ pubs. For us non-smokers it's absolute....heaven!

You can even wear the same suit the following day without having to send it to the dry-cleaners, and you get to enjoy your food/drink.

What about smokers? They simply have to refrain or stand outside and return after their puff.

Split smoking/non smoking bars/restaurants simply don't work. It's a daft idea.

Just another quicky before we get told off - do you remember when the back of planes was a smoking area?! How on earth was THAT ever supposed to work!! 'Nuff said - end of non-smokers hijack!! ;)

Please keep this posting to comments on O Lume. If you'd like to discuss Smoking in general please raise in the 'Happy Hour'.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Now go stand in the corner put your dunces hat on and write out 100 lines NO SMOKING.

By the way O'Lume does not have Plastic Curtains little bit more up market than that.

Do you know - youre right again! I was getting confused with L'Aup! I apologise unreservedly to O'Lume! :|

Just to put O Lume back in spotlight as its in back streets in PP it needs all the help this superb place can get.
Not been give it a try you will not be disopointed, Jamie is the most wonderful host.

Any regular visitor to PP who has not been there doesn't know what they are missing. Yes it is a little off the beaten track but well worth seeking out - the quality of the food, value for money and Jamie's charm are first class. Went there last Friday, the night of the kings celebration. Arrived at 9.00'ish and we were the only ones there but within half an hour another 16 had arrived in two's and four's and they were all Spanish which speaks volumes!! Stuck as usual to the set menu which is now 20 euro's including water and wine ( bottle between 2 ). Every time we go we say we'll eat off the al a carte menu because it looks great but we always come back to the set one as it is always excellent and changes every Thursday - the only answer seems to be to go there 3 times in a week and then we'd need to change for variety but I wouldn't bank on it! Roll on the next time.

Having just returned once again from a gourmet extravaganza I can only sing the highest praises for O Lume. In January you are fairly limited to the choice of restuarants available that are open so what a pleasure it was to sit down to a blazing fire on a cold evening. Albeit the surroundings are quite mediocre however the service and attention to detail was second to none.
The menu of the day at 20 euros is excellent value for money whatever time of year you go dont miss this little gem in mallorcas crown!
