Well, Portofan, I’ll share one discovery (for me) this year. I’d never before eaten at the Yacht Club but have been three times recently. Jesus, former Maitre’d from Stay is running the place with his son alongside. The Menu of the Week is €45 (Stay €48.50, La Llonga €48) and is excellent, as is the service and location. It’s also open year round, so that really suits our winter visits. Highly recommended.

Weekday eves we usually just mooch to Sadanar at the end of the street. Perfectly decent Pa Amb Oli, tapas and a cana...
Push the bought out a bit later in the week, go to Capitol for lunch. They do a great Menu del Dia! Alternatively Calvari Hills do amazing curries if its not crazy hot.
If the mrs wants a posh wine by the glass then its proper shoes and walk down to Anime e Farina. Lovely fresh foccacia devices ...
If we're going posh (or its payday) then Q11 is well within staggering distance and Giovani will butter you up and make you feel super special right up the the point he gives you the bill and takes all your pay away again...
Sunday, always a good call to put the effort in and go to Font de Gall. Eat slow, chat to Santi, and then gradually meander up the hill to U Gallet to say hi to Ernie and then roll all the way home when the sun sets (living down hill from the pub is a great idea).
Then, if all else fails (usually Patrona day or mid winter) then put on your best walking shows, pack a map and provisions and set off for Fuente de Oro for a literal drive by fooding or Portofino for a cracking pizza or roasted half a lamb (it says shoulder but there's no way in h*** thats just a shoulder.)
And thats week of me basically.

We found Angelo’s very, very good, the food was excellent and the staff attentive but not overly so.

We love the yacht club too. Great value set menu and lovely to see Jesus and meet his son. Seems a bit odd at Stay though without him at the helm, after so many years

I’m not sure who’s actually in charge at Stay now, though Paco somehow seems the most senior, but there’s no designated Maitre’d. However, we went twice in the last fortnight and I can honestly say it was every bit as good as ever. Interestingly, Stay now serves, with the Menu of the Week, Beronia wine, which is the same at the Yacht Club, and a definite improvement upon the stuff they served previously. I wonder what Stay will do over the winter? Last year they close very early, initially at 8pm which then changed to 9pm, which was disappointing.We love the yacht club too. Fingers' firmly crossed that Stay stays open later for evening meals this late autumn and winter and that it doesn't reduce its menu so drastically, or at all, and remove the Menu of the week like it did last 'off season'.
With so few places remaining open in the Port 'out of season' these days compared to 10 to 20 years ago when the likes of Tango, Trio, Maxim's / La Piazza / Maxim's Bistro, Hibiscus (which is closing for retirement in October) were all open, Stay being open all day, 365 days a year has been a saviour but the shortened hours and considerably reduced menu last 'off season' was a big shame.
