Think that was the point BL was making and tho' tourists might not be aware of the bed/brollies fiasco, they will be very aware of the unfinished square. Just so glad I am not flying out today as planned....between the weather today and no market in the square for now.....later date was very wise! In a two week holiday market day is one of the highlights for me. Hope for the traders sake it is completed soon.

Shame - I am flying out today and was hoping that the market would be back in the square. This is is our 6th visit and we are bringing our parents out too having told them how wonderful he squre is or was! hopefully the weather will pick up the outlook for the week after sunday is good according to the english sites - but ae they kidding me!

So whats the latest guestimate for the date of the market returning to the square

Gonna be more upbeat on this one, guys.

Points of the compass have been set up in the middle of the square and the 'wind dial ' being carefully relaid. Benches being reinstalled and the Palms are all having a good haircut .

In the lovely sunshine suddenly see a lot more progress.

Hi Sparky, thanks for the excellent photos as usual, just a question re the lights, are these the final ones do you know, they look like they are pointing upwards and bouncing back off the shades to give a diffused light, are they working yet?

I have no idea but they were wiring them up today. I will wander down tonight to see if they are working and hopefully take some more photos.

Wow, what wacky new lights. Not quite in keeping with old style PP but I think they look good. It definitely looks like they've fitted deflectors to the top.....they look like the same sort of thing professional photographers use when taking portrait photo's. They should give off some nice light but will be softer and certainly more energy efficient.

What about the benches? I bet they're the solid concrete ones!!

Also good to see they're putting the compass back.

Glad to report that lights are on and working in the centre of the Square. Hopefully Sparky will get some pics when she goes out later. She's a real night bird whilst I 'm early to me pit !

Must say quite a good diffused light , when they finish the ones at the side it should produce a nice effect.

Business owners happier bunnies as well tonight.
