Thanks for the pics Sparky. It's really starting to take shape now and you can get an idea of what the finished product will be like! Its great that they havent removed too many trees and are even planting new ones. Looking forward to seeing it 'live' in May:)

I am so lucky to be able to keep you all updated and am looking forward to the day when i can tell you the work is done and post the final photos. They really are working very quickly and i am hoping it will be finished by Easter. Like you Rosie, i was worried when i saw trees being taken down because we had already lost most of the Palms but i felt much better when i saw new trees being planted.
I was told before the work started that they were putting in new lighting but so far there is no sign of this, we will have to wait and see.

Sparky,

Thanks for keeping us so well informed on the progress. Longing to see it in realtime shortly.

Hope they get the right sodium lights.

Would hate to end up looking green late at night in the square !!

BonysLad :)

I am happy to do it BL it keeps me out of mischief (and the bars ) seriously though, about the lighting i agree with you, if they are going to change it they need to get it right. We were in Alcudia on Tuesday night and i have to say i thought the lighting near the Yacht Club and marina was awful, it was just rows of what to me looked like fluorescent strip lights. I know it's modern but it has no character and does not give off a good ambience, it's so clinical. Of course we don't want Blackpool style lights either  but a bit of colour would be nice ;).

Looking good - the addition of a fountain would have been nice but I suppose it's the cost of the maintenance.

BL, can't stay mad at you for long .... often yes, long no! Don't push your luck though - I'll take my bubbles in a glass by the way, overlooking the bay!;)

Seeing these pics is great Sparky - thanks so much for your efforts.

We are holidaying in PP this July, our first visit for 2 years, and are very much looking forward to it. Whenever we know we are coming back, I always start reading the forums to see what is going on, and I started watching this thread a couple of weeks ago. Seeing all of your photos of the square brings back loads of memories of past holidays - very much hope that the renovations are finished by the time we visit.

You are a lucky person to be able to live there permanently!

Thanks again for the pics.

Hello kcdc thanks for the kind words, i am indeed very lucky to be living here and i am sure everything will be completed by the time you visit.:D

I think they may be trying to finish by Easter as they were working again yesterday.

More Photos Please

Please could one of you lucky lucky people who call PP your home please post some more photos as we are coming out on the 9th of April and would love to see what progress has been made.:):):)

There's not really much different to show at the moment. They are busy laying crazy paving in the areas where they have made gardens smaller. This is not as quick as putting down block paving and there are some holes where I suspect new lights will go.

Yes Lollipop that's why i don't have any new pics at the moment but as soon as there anything different to see i will get the camera out, keep watching this space ;):).

it's good to here that thet are cracking on with the work in the square i wonder if the budget may stretch for some new bench seating.
