Yes I know this is the wrong spelling! Just a little history on this one - same road as can Guarassa, used to be Ca Vostra many years ago - no upstairs enclosed terrace, long wooden tables downstairs with red and white checked plastic table cloths and still the very large wine vats that were too large to ever be taken away! So much character and wonderful people about 20 years ago! This was the time my husband was asked to go to Majorca to put in air conditioning in this restaurant. Fell in love with the North and we have been going back ever since. Mind you, they never did get the hang of keeping doors and windows closed to make the a/c work!!:lol

Hi belladonna,
sorry to say that this place is closed. It's got a notice on the window that it's closed until October, but my guess is that that's it for this place. Shame, but hardly anybody ever went.
It is possible it may reopen as it says, but Baxters (used to be Googlers) has got a note on the window saying it "Closed for family reasons, open again March 2005)!!!!!:rolleyes

Yep, saw it was closed when we were over there a couple of weeks back. We had actually tried it last year, but it wasnt a patch on when it was Ca Vostra, so didnt feel the urge to try again. Im sure I have photos of Ca Vostra all those years ago - a bit of history! All it takes is for me to understand how to show them on the site! :rolleyes

Just to let you know it will be re-opening on 22nd October as I was speaking to the wife of the owner the other day. They have a French chef and the owner is Italian. Shall let you know when/if I get around to trying it. If the food and service are good then it could be a good move opening up when almost everything else closes down. The decor is lovely and traditional and it was a favourite typical Mallorcan choice with my family about 15 years ago but has been struggling over last 5 years or so. I hope it is a success this time just so we can go and look at those lovely old barrels?? :p

May be tempted to give another go if it has refurbished. Its just that we had so much interaction all those years ago with the owner when we put in the air-conditioning, and it was really a great local restaurant, that I feel it has lost its character over the years. We did attempt to tell them of our connection with the history of the place - but they didnt seem too interested! We are over on the 20th so may make 1st contact with a few members somewhere that night!!:D
