Sorry Sparky, they have a map now showing the new route as well

Am I the only one looking forward to seeing this work being done? I personally think it's great the car park and bus stop are being moved away from the front. It's not as if anywhere in the town is that far to walk to and most people on holiday spend their time just mooching around.

No you are not the only one, but when it's been promised year on year and never turns up you kind of lose the will as it were. Then you see the so called plans and your gut instinct tells you they are going to make a right pigs ear of it when they do attempt it.

At the risk of repeating myself, I have said before about Arenal. Anyone that knows the layout in detail of that place will know it mirrored PP in every detail. However many years ago they did a proper job there and closed the front to traffic despite the predictions of impending doom which never happened. What a shame that the powers to be did not learn from that fine example.

I have heard people on hear say it will ruin the trade of the bars and restaurants along the front. I find that strange because from tolos down to the port, nothing parked there any:confused:way.

Get it done , but Please, Please do it right the first time

The Run

Hi Pollensafan

If I were you I would probably start my training now, gently at first, then build it up over the next 2 years!!! Although it is hard to run at nighttime!! Ha! Ha!

The police are out on C/Roger De Flor putting up "No Parking" signs from Cafe Dolc Sa Pobla up ;).

Hi All
Could a drawing/plans of the works be posted on the forum please, if possible.
So I don't get lost next time out.
Rebel.

As of Monday the buses will be stopping and leaving from behind the square opposite the Post Office/ Dolce Mar.

I agree pollensafan, they've been talking about it for years, like they did the bypass! Eventually though that did get done, and once the pedestrianisation is completed I'm sure the bypass will be used far more.

It's got to be a good thing for all the bars and restaurants along the front as I'm sure a lot of people are put off going to them because the pavement is so narrow, and it's very noisy with all the traffic going by.

The promenade side is in desperate need of a revamp as the paving is terrible with a mismatch of colours and very uneven and dangerous in places.

My concern, along with many others, is that they get it right  Only time will tell but they've taken so long planning it jolly well should be!!

I'm in no danger. They say they will do it over 2 winters. This one according to them will only get that small part by the port completed. Can any one see them completing from there right down to llenaire in one winter ?

Indeed they did get the bypass finished and as I predicted at the time hardly anyone would use it unless they were forced to. Even today you can stand there and play " Spot the car ".

Lets give them a chance...

I am sure that the same thoughts and arguments went on before the start of the pinewalk was made into a pedestrian zone and now no one bats an eyelid as El Gordo says "Lets give them a chance".

lollipop my husband said exactly the same thing to me yesterday. He's been meaning to post but he's been tidying/ clearing out the garage and I haven't seen him for ages

Debz1

Please keep us all posted - I am sure we all hope that your husband turns up soon. My dog went missing once, so I know how you feel!! Ha! Ha!

So the council have decided to shift the traffic, busses and diesel fumes from the front line into a residential area. Ho Hum...

The newly reformed car park by the council offices next to the by-pass on Carrer de la Tramuntana would be a far more sensible location for busses if the idea is to reduce traffic in the Port and push it towards the by-pass and that location is still in close proximity (two blocks in a straight line!) to the main square.

Hmmm....!!!

James i think the move into C/Roger de Flor is only a temporary measure .

A temporary measure perhaps (and I hope!) but if the pedestrianisation is meant to be take [at least] two years, following which there is no new home for the bus stop on the front line, how temporary is "temporary"?:eek:
