I have just received confirmation that Tango has closed permanently, Manolo has retired and the restaurant is up for sale.
Provide or get advice on everything Puerto Pollensa, ask questions, gain confirmation or just become apart of a friendly, like minded community.
More proof that running a business that only makes money during 4 or 5 months a year is nowadays extremely diificult in todays economis conditions.
The spanish government is trying it´s damnest to throttle small businesses with taxes, regulations and making hiring and firing staff expensive and difficult.
The social charges have gone through the roof and sometimes it´s just not worth the bother.
Let´s hope someone else takes it over, something I honestly can´t see happening anytime soon.
Sparky, retiring hides a multitude of sins.
The current law allows a business owner to collect his pension whilst running his business at the same time.
Also he won´t get as nearly as much money for it closed as he would if it were a going concern.
I do hope that his son stays in the Hospitality business locally - he, too, just like his dad, has always provided great service.
Well what am I going to do now???
I mean, "El Posito Man" doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?
Or maybe "Tapas Tree Man"!! No, maybe not.
I will need to give this someserious thought. Hmmmm .................
