As I've said many times, if we all liked the same places there would be no point in going anywhere because you'd never get in. Viva La Difference.

We love all the different Restaurants in PP Far better variety than any other places we visit every year

It will be sad if it does become overwhelmed with Italian Restaurants but that does seem to happen everywhere now A place we used to visit in France a lot that had great Fish Restaurants and then didnt visit for quite a while we were shocked on our return to find you were more likely to get pasta or pizza than a proper french meal !! We struggled to find a fish Restaurant and then ended up with Fish not cooked in the middle !!

I cant imagine how they manage in PP with the short season I know it is what they know but if Rates Rents and costs are based on year round occupation it must be difficult

We spoke to Tolo whilst out walking this weekend and he made us smile by saying that he was not retiring but simply having a 'holiday'. Personally we will miss him, his restaurant and his hardworking staff and wish him well for his 'extended vacation'!!

That said we also agree that the best thing about PP is it's diverse and eclectic mix of restaurants and bars (I too did not like a Burger King in the resort but appreciate that others did and that it provided a different offering) but we also think it will be a shame if more 'chain type' restaurants (Italian, Tex Mex or whatever) proliferate in PP and hope that the new owners of Tolo's add to this mix and vary their fare.

As the French foodies say Vive la differance!!!!

Just posted on FB by the new owners, good news for us Tolo regulars

We are honoured to announce that we have been fortunate enough to take over the very successful restaurant Tolo's. The concept will be kept the same respecting the hard work that the previous owner Tolo has earned such a reputation for, but with a few menu updates!
Our doors will be open this Saturday from 9am! We hope very much to see you all at some point in the near future.

Has anyone been to Tolos since it has been taken over by the Casa Vila family?

Yes, we were there last week Hoopy, and went back a few times as the weather was lovely and so nice to sit outside for lunch - the view never fails does it? Menu different from the other Vila interests and can highly recommend a delicious fish skewer with large prawn, monkfish, scallops and veg (and a jacket potato) and on another day had a great avocado salad.
Plenty of staff including all of the Tolo's gang and some of the Case Vila guys to establish the Vila style of service etc.
All in all, much of the old feel and cycling memorabilia still in place (there is no way they want to lose the cycling community), but with a nice dash of Vila style added in.
Hope you and the guys enjoy!
