Hi
Wife and I are coming to pollensa in July:
we came with the family 20 years ago. people tell us it still has the same charm.
Any recommendations for eating and music
we are only there for a week and would like to make the best of our time
Ken

Magpie, A scroll through the "Bars/Restaurants should give you most of the answers you require, it's pretty accurate. To date no restaurant has ever attained 100%:):)

Hi
Wife and I are coming to pollensa in July:

Welcome to the forum Ken :)

Are you staying in Port Pollensa or Pollensa 'old' town as the recommendations for restaurants will be different depending on where you are staying.

The title of the forum is "Bars & Restaurants in Pollensa, Majorca Where to eat and drink. For great reviews and comments on bars, cafes and restaurants".

Bit of a silly topic to start a thread - "any recommendations for eating and music"

Just go through the posts (of which there are lots of recommendations) or have a stroll when your there. Thats the idea of a holiday. To try different things.

I really don't agree with you Russets, it is sometimes difficult for new members to know exactly where to post their queries and it does not help when older members make this kind of comment . I for one am happy to answer their questions as accurately as i can and to point them in the right direction for the information they are looking for.

Magpie (Ken) please feel free to ask your questions and if you post in the "wrong" place it doesn't matter we can move it to wherever it should be ;).

Its always difficult when you are a newbie on a forum and sometimes its easier to start with simple questions, so welcome Ken to the forum, it would be great to get your opinion of the place when you go to see if you think it does still have the charm, it some ways it has changed, in others it hasn't, hopefully you will find some things familiar.
As for music, it has changed in that way, more available then when we first started going, check out the forum as members often post events close to the time and also look out for flyers when you are there.

Welcome to the forum magpie. I think you will find that most people on this forum are are friendly bunch so ask away and we'll all do our best to answer your questions :)

Hi Ken, yes, most of us are pretty decent. Ignore those with downright bad manners! And I am sure that you will have a fab holiday! :)

Same here :) , I always try help anyone with anything in life although my specialist subject with restaurants here is the Old town, my favourite place for a holiday anywhere on the planet.

Yes post away most of us have a genuine love of the place and gives factual oppinions although we ,of course have varied tastes.
I,like Mark have more old town knowledge and a Yorkshire "spin" on things!

There's lots of great stuff and tried and tested places to eat and enjoy yourself, but everyone has their own preferences and tastes annd I'm sure you'll find your own favourites. I can't stand Bonys others rave about it. One thing for sure you'll have a brilliant holiday in this special resort, albeit that it's not quite the same a s 20 years ago.:)

Ken,
Depending when in July you are out there your visit may coincide with the Puerto Pollensa fiesta, usually mid July, plenty of entertainment in the square most evenings. We are out from the 13th July hoping to catch the festivities.

It depends when you go in July, the early part can be that little bit quieter before the main school break(Scotland is earlier, end June). You mention you went as a family 20 yrs ago, if it's now just one or 2 people then the 1st fortnight would be better, if it's a family holiday then the latter part would be better, more kids about for families kids to meet and play with.
