Here is a rough translation of a report in the UH.

Pollença already has authorization Costas for the new project of the municipality's beaches.

The City Council of Pollença reported in a statement Thursday it has received authorization from Coastal Authority 2016-2019 Project beaches, which "is practically approves all requested items, with the new staking beaches» . Indicate that this authorization includes many new elements to the municipality, such as the type of hammocks and parasols to be installed, the management of these areas giving more free space on the beach, the existence of safes, full accessibility on beaches and the quantity and quality of children's games that will be installed over the next 4 years. They also emphasize other aspects "pioneers at regional level" as the naturalization of an artificial beach with native vegetation, the existence of playground equipment for disabled children or the very center of social integration, physical, psychological and people with disabilities at risk of exclusion which will include a kiosk run by an NGO working as a center for these people. "This project is pioneering, innovative, and will place the municipality's beaches at a higher level. It has taken a lot of work because we had to overcome many difficulties, but when you can run soon again be a leader in Balears "manifest municipal sources .. Bidding beaches Moreover, on Thursday it has resumed bidding deadline beaches of different services, which had been suspended as a result of claims by entities and individuals. The deadline for submitting proposals to exploit the beaches of Port de Pollença, Formentor and Cala San Vicente will end next Monday.

I had a drink with a local businessman who used to have the beach beds contract the other day. He's not involved this year but his words were ... Its very political and maybe won't be sorted till July. ...He is very close to the situation and knows whats what. Not so good

Every day this is delayed isn't great.
But the longer it goes on, more people will be affected and might just enjoy their one or two weeks of sun holiday that little bit less.

It's really gross negligence that there hasn't been a (temporary) solution implemented at the start of the season to bridge the period until the tender is completed and the selected company is ready to provide the beds and brollies.

We went in May and enjoyment was that little bit less because of this unacceptable situation. I was annoyed.

And if they're not there for our Sept visit, when the beds & brollies will be needed more frequently, I will be very annoyed.

Just under 4 weeks to our visit so I shall have my fingers crossed or I shall be asking advice as to where to buy the best brollies and sunbeds !

No transport so we will be walking to buy them I think

I suppose we might be lucky that someone who is in the apartment the week before might have bought some !

Have I got this right that whoever runs the facility just uses the same beds and brollies that are there every year ? Then someone gets the contract to look after them ?

No i remember a few years ago the company that won the contract put up the most useless brollies ever, so i am pretty sure that the winning company will provide their own equipment.

Just been checking the FAQs for our stay at Sis Pins....

"Q Are the Sun loungers free of charge?
All sun loungers are situated on our Private Terrace and are free of charge to all hotel guests."

Don't want to appear to gloat, but YEEESSS! :D

Now just the cost of coffee at Cappuccino Grand Café to overcome:(

Some piles of brolly poles have been delivered to the beach, looks like things will move quite quickly after tomorrows deadline for tenders ;).

We have it the wrong way round for our visits this year

June Opposite the empty beach Small terrace Has fabulous views though !

September Pool and a couple of large sun terraces and sun beds of course !

The way things are going they might not put any beds out at all this year so we will be Ok in September

The beaches on the Webcam have seemed very empty this year so will be interesting to see how busy it is this coming week being half term As there is only a few beach bars it doesent really effect them I suppose but what about Mr Coco Pineapple Melon Man !!!!!

They've been piled up behind the sea wall since April!

I think they may have been part of the fences placed to keep the sand from being blown away. ;)

Well the tender process ends today so lets hope they move quickly, the Port is suffering as many are going to Alcudia during the day, not good for PP :(.
