The Oceon Bar run by Sue from Whitley Bay was a great place for drinks

Los Pescadores for sure - that was a great place.

I am also beyond sad about O'Lume...

In the old town, Ca'n Costa was always really special - and Daus with Christina at the helm. That was the first meal we ever ate in the old town and it was such a beautiful, atmospheric restaurant.

Great memories

Did not realise so many of our favourite restaurants had gone
Til we actually started thinking about this but oh what wonderful memories !!!

1. Old Neptuno
2. Montenegro
3. C'an Pacienci
4. Balaixa
5. Katy's
6. Los Pescadores
7. Al Fresco
8. Mollies

Does anyone remember Tropicana which was between PP and the old town? Great little place for lunch and to spend an afternoon by the pool. It was run by Max who now has a bar in PP (can't remember the name)

How about:

The Jolly Sailor? and the "old" Bon Dia café, :D

both on Calle Bot on the way up to the Pollensa Park.

Remember it well, we had many happy times there.

Was it located here? ( Link to Google Streetview )

Pollensa, Spain - Google Maps

It's Max's Bar Debz ;).

Max's Bar was previously "The Mousetrap".

It would be interesting if those with the knowledge could put together a map with all the bars/restaurants marked, with a key to show previous names, personnel and dates where they moved to etc etc.

Maybe we could pick a popular place and ask for members to contribute to its history and then move onto the next.

eg O'Lume, where it was previously, dates, info, personnel etc. What was the name of the previous restaurant, who ran it etc.

Sounds a lot of work but not if many contribute?

El Gordo is correct the link you posted lovemallorca is L'Aup. Tropicana was on the left hand side heading towards Pollensa, about half way between the Port and the old town. It was at the end of a long drive and unless you knew it was there you would never have stumbled upon it. Very popular with locals and those in the know! It was up for sale as a residential property a couple of years back for a ridiculously low price, but it needed loads of work doing on it as it had been empty for years.

If i recall it was a Chinese restaurant, the family now run Pascalino, Luna and the one at the square next to the church. Before that it was a lovely French restaurant, think it was called Paris.

O Lume was El Pozo as far back as 1985 I think? and Paris was good but I think it was around the former O Lume area? Others will know?

Lucky, I'm referring to the old O' Lume location, it was a Chinese restaurant before that it was the French one. Strangely enough the latter O' Lume was preceded by another Chinese restaurant, which is now on Roger de Flor.

Olume was indeed the excellent El Pozo fronted by the lad with the huge moustach who is head waiter at the restaurant which lies between cala for mentor & pine walk.

Wow, the Jolly sailor. Now theres a blast from the past and don't be fooled by the name folks. As I recall it was run by a spanish family. Food to die for and for some reason I recall he took his drink (wine ect) out of what looked like an old ice cream fridge. Happy Day's :)
