Thanks lollipop, great more new bars to try, where are these two?

Mombasa is on the seafront just before you get to the Sail and Surf office and Bistro,Panini bar is next door.

Thanks BL, I rather naively assumed all the locals would support Barca in these games, I dont think they will appreciate my barca football shirt, I may try the Marina bar then, thanks Nick, the louder the better for me

sws,

Believe me there is a strong anti Catalan element here .

What makes you think Spurs won't win 5-0 though ??

BonysLad :)

I hope I have a free bar to watch Man U v Chelsea Poor Malc may be down on Thursday when he arrives in the port, but seeing BL and Me I am sure we can cheer him up. !!

Been watching the golf alas no UK winner so off to bed 22:46 up at 03:15 never mind.

Have a good journey snowy and see you next week:)

We're on the same 'graveyard' flight on Wednesday but probably going to do what BL did and not go to bed on the Tuesday night as I know I won't sleep for fear of oversleeping  Then we have to come back to Palma at 4pm to pick up friends...not good planning!!

Debz flight was good arrived 25 min early car hire long wait mainly for goldcar must be at least 2 hours, we were with Budget/Avis all paper work done over in car park office.
See you soon have a good flight.

Snowy

Trust you enjoyed the match .............. we certainly did but I must remember not to mention it when I see Malc next week :)

See you on Sunday ...... 5 more sleeps and counting

Oh crikey that means it just 6 for me and still so much to do! Hope you are all settled now Snows. Dont forget to check the restaurant booking cd - see you next week! Getting excited now! :)

Hi Locals, with the possibility of four El Clasicos over the next few weeks, could you give us an update on the best places to watch Spanish football, I think we know all the places that show sport, but where do the locals go, where is the best place to sample the atmosphere and hopefully watch Barca win, its the Copa del Rey on the 2oth of April, the equivalent of our FA cup if you are lucky enough to be over there then, will the bars and restaurants all be showing it do you think?
Thanks

Sws,

Where did you end up watching it ?

Personally missed it but leaving Pollenca at midnight to a cacophony of exploding fireworks thought the Royals had won.

Did catch the Barca players accepting their losers medals through gritted teeth though !

Wanna have a bet on the finalists for the Champions League ?

BonysLad :)

Ended up with the Sparkes in the Goldina lion, great atmosphere, we were the only English, great banter and very loud, didn't understand a lot of what was going on but what a great place to have seen it, result was a disaster of cause, but the great company and everything made up for it, saw the El Clasico in the Marina bar as suggested, another good place also to see matches, very friendly staff too

We watched the Real v Barca match in Tap's Bar- we were the only non Spanish people in there. The atmosphere was great, certainly made the match worth watching. Loved the fact one of the Spaniards referred to Renaldo as a swimming pool as he was good at diving. Would certainly go back there to watch a spanish match.

Where are you all watching the football tonight, so wish i was over there with you, enjoy the sun and a Barca victory tonight, vamos Barca

Not a classic, but I thought the best team won. What a final. Man U v Barca! And I'll be watching it in sunny PP.:)

We decided to do something we always said we would never do (ie, watch footy in a restaurant) ....went to El Posito and sat with a vino con hielo and some olives, then just before half time got served our starter of cigales followed by grilled John Dory both cooked and served to perfection and washed down with a beatifully chilled bottle of Macia Batle Blanc, we never normally do dessert but enjoyed the Creme Broulee, then had a night cap at the bar. The bill was 60€ ...so two good results in one evening and two very happy Sparky's bimbled home. :D

Sparky,

Sounds great , thought Toni would have paid in his delirium !!

Mind you , that Messi second goal was worth paying 60 Euros alone for. Just like the one the old cocaine snorter scored against us in that infamous World Cup !

Is Toni repeating this for the Final ? Is it for invitees only ?

BonysLad ( Having slummed it in the Marina Cafe/Jks ) :):)
