There may just be time to get them out before its time to bring them in.

Hope they don't raise price too much, to cover short season. On the plus side the massage people may have found somewhere else to ply their trade by time beds are out ;)

3 weeks tomorrow we arrive so have resigned myself to lugging sunbeds and umbrella to the beach We are lucky in the fact that we are staying across from the beach

Someone mentioned Multihire poss on Trip Advisor so might check with them

What a year PP has had The highs Night Manager ( lots of good publicity ) then the negative the front improvements then the Beds and Brollies Saga !!

We will be relaxed as soon as we get there as usual but different for people on their first visit !

PS Does this mean there are no toilets and showers either ??

I guess if anybody is really desperate they could walk along the beach, and start digging. You wouldn't believe how many sun-beds were buried in the sand after the big storm last September!!! We arrived a couple of days later and the scene was one of total devastation. There may be some still lurking there!

Drove over to Formentor this afternoon for a coffee and to check out the bed/brollie situation. As expected no beds other than those exclusively for the hotel ....but they did have some of the umbrellas in situ along the beach :)

Unsurprisingly the beach wasn't busy....I guess unless you are driving, lugging beds on the bus or boat is a step too for even the most enthusiastic of beach goers ;)

Does this not mean that things will start to happen after the middle of next week?

Thank you

That is really bad about the toilets as they are actually there the Council could have operated them !

Hopefully things will move quickly when the contract has been awarded. Every day i speak with both locals and tourists and there is a great deal of anger and resentment in the Port, have even heard whispers of a manifestación/protest march, it's not good :(.

Sparky there were life guards on Pinaret beach yesterday so I suppose that's something

Oh that's good Debz, it has been worrying me, maybe the council were afraid of possible law suits if anyone drowned, it's still not enough though .

It's a disgrace, what are people doing for toilets, I can see pollution becoming a problem, (you know what some people are like)

I read a post where a lady was saying her family are going to Alcudia to use their beaches and also staying to eat in the evening so the Port losing out there aswell.

People will not return next year incase the same thing happens, although I have read that once the tenders are complete, this will be for a few years, but how many people will know that.

Five minutes ago i sent a message to the ajuntament on their FB page asking if the contract has been awarded, here is the reply :-

Not half going to confuse them if there is only one envelope to open. Will the contents lie ceremoniously on a desk for everyone to stare at and go "wooooh"?

How are the likes of Embat copeing ,i think the toilets their customers use are council run, might be worth giving that stretch of sea a miss for a bit.

I think Embats toilets are their own attached to the bar

Yes Embats have their own loos but not sure how they will cope if everyone on the beach starts using them

Tamarells restaurant also has toilets, and what about the ones by the park and taxi rank are they open?
