I'm in PP now. We've been out all day and it's now 6.15pm and still beautifully sunny. Most of the sun beds are empty now. If we were to sit on them would we be expected to pay? I would hate to just have a quick 30 mins at the end of the day and then be asked for full payment.
Does anyone know if there is a cutoff point? A bit like 'free parking' after a certain time?
I wonder if there are more beds and brollies this year, particularly on the narrow 'Pine Walk' beaches?
There seemed little 'free beach' space for people to throw a towel down and have a couple of hours of bronzying or for the kids to do things they do on beaches - build castles, kick a ball, beach tennis, run about a bit.
The view from the Miramar was obstructed by a forest of south sea floaty type umbrellas - no sea or bay to be seen.
I'm not objecting to 'beds and brollies' per see, just querying the apparent - not noticed last year - density of them.
Are the council 'packing 'em in' to maximise income after a slow start this season?
Is this going all the way down the beach ?
We were saying when we were there this year how much better it was without chained beds As they were dangerous I felt when the chain was buried in the sand
22 Euros a day does seem an awful lot 15 was bad enough compared to other places we visit !
Don't know if they are just going to be at this end, or going to be changed the whole way down. Maybe chain was the wrong word, it's one of those light weight plastic covered high strength bicycle types, and its high so not hidden in the sand. The price is totally ridiculous can't see many paying the €15 or €22, certainly a family couldn't afford those prices for 2 weeks.
They stopped the offer of being cheaper for so many days last year and this year they stopped the half day price Which is a shame as a lot of people only wanted half a day while it was cooler ...
