Ca'n Moixet or Cafe Espanyol

I have talked to a friend who is Pollensa born and bred just because i wanted to know the pronunciation and translation of the word "Moixet". Debz is spot on with the pronunciation, i was confused with popimages translation that the word in Catalan/ Mallorquin was "Cat" because my Catalan translator was saying the word for cat was "Gato" (the same in Spanish".
Anyway my friend says the Mallorquin word for "Cat" is "Moix" and "Moixet" is the equivalent to our "Kitty -cat" or little cat.
I have to admit though....i have always called the place "Cafe Espanyol". Great coffee BTW!!! .

A well as great coffee we had some lovelly little baguettes one day when last over ..... just filled a little space that couldnt wait for the next mealtime.

I for one hope they nexer take the Blue Cafe Espanol down .... for us it is iconic, if I had to list 20 views that just say Pollensa/PP that would be one of them ......... hmm I feel a new thread coming on

Just seen on FB that the waiter from here has just had a baby, well his partner, you know him if you have ever drank here, he must be the best, and most hardest working waiter in the town, I think his partner works in the town also, I am sure she worked in the cafe at the bitten of the steps, pics on FB, v cute!

I totally agree, SWS. This bar has been a fave of mine for several years, but I've never been able to take any photos of him that are 'in focus', as he never stands still! Arturo (I think?) moves so quickly between the tables, managing to remember everybody's order, and then returns with a tray laden with umpteen glasses and bottles. Amazingly, he never seems to slow down. He flits so quickly between the tables that his whole body seems to lean over like Valentino Rossi taking a corner! Anyway, a great bar, full of genuine Mallorcan flavour, I've always called it Can Moixet

An excellent and enjoyable set of Pollensa 'piccy's' on your Flickr a/c Jonsey - especially on a cold day in December. Can Moixet also very much liked by many who make the trip up the road to Pollensa.
