Fast food

Hi I am new here and will be staying in Puerto Pollensa for 2 weeks May/June. I have researched some of the popular restaurants for evening meals, but was wondering where to get take away or fast food - any kind for lunches. We have kids so dont really want so sit at a bar for lunch. Thankyou.

You have plenty of choice, ranging from smaller supermarkets selling baguettes, panaderias (bread shops) selling pastries, and on the south beach there is the dreaded KFC (but when needs must!) and even a couple of kebab shops, and a fish & chip shop. The wonderful thing about PP is that you can get practically any type of food you wish.

I can recommend a little baker's shop on the main road into the port, just a few doors down from the Eroski supermarket. I wish I could remember what it was called, but they do delicious cakes and pizza slices, as well as delicatessen items.

We had pizza from there when we were out on holiday in August and re-heated the slices in our oven. Absolutely delicious! And the cakes are to die for!

I'm also aware that Al Fresco do takeways and of course, the Codfather just off the main square.

Hi ,
I suppose it depends where you are staying in the Port but we find supermarket Voramor excellent for a tasty take away lunch --- the food here is very good and lovely staff, it is along the pine walk. Wehave also had a quick , good quality but good value lunch in Mollies , which is on the pedestrianised road behind Paseo Saralegui, sort of opposite the bus / taxi rank. I think someone has already mentioned Al Fresco take away , we have bought the paninis , baguettes etc all very acceptable. There is also a little shop who sell the most delicious spit roasted chickens towards the back of town,perhaps someone can help me with the location I just cannot remember the name of the road. Oh and i forgot to mention Tots , opposite side of street to Mollies.

If you are near the Voramar end then is a new sandwich/takeaway place almost next to the little supermarket and it was being finished whilst we were there in August. It certainly looked good.

Also, we noticed that a couple of times when were in Manducca, that people were leaving with takeaway Pizza.

Little italy also does take away pizza and the Voramar supermarket does a nice selction of filled rolls and that yummy Mallorca veggy flan that looks like pizza.

Shop on the Formentor Road near Tango does roast chicken too.

For a real tasty treat try the Iguana take away at the rear of Bonys opposite Nicos / Tiberi.
They do Argentinian food, particular favourite was a chovito /chicovito (?) thinly sliced beef, fried on the grill with tomato,lettuce and onion on a toasted bun with any variety of salsa added - about 4 euros.
Or a real treat try the Full Iguana !!
Fried sliced beef,thinly sliced serano ham,egg and salad on a toasted bun-yum, yum, 6 euros.
I was taken there by The Hustlers for a post gig snack, fantastic music followed by Argy comfort food - brilliant!!

Hi Mia - Al fresco is great for filled panninis, ciabattas and baguettes - also casa isabelle is said to be good but have not tried it myself - will d next time.

We normally just get the local french style bread 'bara' in the morning, pack up a lunch with cheese. salami, quince jelly, spanish omlette, fruit, yogurht, beer, wine, soft drinks, etc and head off for the beach and chill for the day - no stressing about having to go do anything else
