OK up to now I have stayed out of this one but I feel I need to throw my hat in. When I first heard about this I was very concerned as I did not want my PP spoiled. And as a Boat owner I am always even more concerned about what is going on in the water.Haven't seen it (my daughters in the port at the moment so will ask her view when she returns)....
but my view is this...why don't people who like such facilities just holiday where they already exist? the island has loads of resorts catering for such needs, but very few resorts cater for those of us who don't want such additions.
The argument that it is being well used is superfluous - if you imported the worse bar from magaluf to PP it would be frequented - but that wouldn't mean it should be in situ....an exaggerated example to illustrate the point.
The business owner who is pleased with the addition should be aware if PP trys to attract a certain cliente group - they may just lose the existing cliente group to the likes of Port de Soller
We also need to remember that there are a lot of youngsters who actually live here and they too need to be occupied through much longer school holidays than exist in the UK.
I think after the initial fears it turned out to be an asset to the port didn't it, everyone seemed to have fun there!! I assume it will be back again, a large outlay just to use it once!
The one in Alcudia is up and running. Its an awesome bit of kit hope they come back![]()
