Re: Re O Lume

Well I certainly won't be the first ........ not in PP until July but will certainly be visiting when there

Re: Re O Lume

We went the other night and as usual had a great time. It was really quite busy and Jaime was on his own until a young waitress joined him a bit later. He was rushing around and I said to wifey, "It must be difficult to keep everyone happy whilst doing everything on your own", and just as I had finished, up he popped and asked if I'd like another beer. Wondefull!!

Re: Re O Lume

I am so looking forward to visiting O'lume the next time I'm back in the port. What a wonderful meal and as you say MB Jaime works wonders on his own.
Great food served by a very attentive Jaime what more could anybody ask for?
I for one plan to spend many a night in Jaime's company and I'm sure my daughters who have all worked as waitresses will enjoy watching Jaime work his magic.
I can't wait. see you soon Jaime.
Take care.

Re: Re O Lume

I think Rob you will find that I was the first to review O Lume in 2006! Check my post of the 9th Feb under 'Dustsheets' :D

Re: Re O Lume

This place sounds good. Do they cater for Kids and i don't mean nuggets etc just smaller portions etc?

Re: Re O Lume

Griffo,

Not sure whether they do childs portions as such but on one occasion we were there my mum ordered 2 starters rather than a starter and a main

Also, my 11 year old wanted the pasta starter but wasn;t sure about the aubergine sauce, so we had a cat with Jaime and he sorted her out with a tomato sauce.

I am sure that if you had 2 young children with you and you wanted to order a portion for them to share , they would be quite accommodating.

It's a great place ..... you won't be disappointed

Re: Re O Lume

oh Debz .......... just reread my post and laughed my head off

Of course what I should have said was we had a CHAT with Jaime who organised a tomato sauce for the pasta

On the other hand cat and ketcup come highly recommended :rollin :rollin :rollin

Re: Re O Lume

AT last ...due to no DIY mishaps ..we made it to O Lume on Sunday night!! You were all right in saying it is a little gem of a place and we must all spread the word. The service was friendly and professional and it was lovely to meet Jaime and chat with him about his charming restaurant (he certainly 'knows' us all from reading the comments posted on the forum!)

The meal was delicious..Chels had a seafood spaghetti to start followed by lamb fillets. I had two starters..a delicate cheese mousse on a tomato and onion salad , followed by crayfish en croute with a lovely creamy vegetable sauce. The house red was a smooth tempranillo :) We shared a dessert of casadielles ..I still laugh at the recipe someone posted ages ago as one of the ingredients being 'worn out nuts' Hmm :\ ! This was also really lovely..a bit like a nutty mince pie delicious with vanilla ice cream. Coffee , hierbas and the scrummy chocs to finish...excellent value at 50 euros.

Jaime many thanks for a great evening and we are looking forward to taking our friends for a meal at O Lume in June.

Debz

All I can say is "Told you So"

So pleased you enjoyed, nice guy Jamie.

Re: Re O Lume

This is a really great place as I've said before. A bit worried now that we won't get a table next time though!!

Re: Re O Lume

Hi Debs,

So pleased you finally got there

So Jaime "knows" us all does he ?

I must use my forum id next time I go in, the way this place is going we may need to pull a few strings to g a table ......... and good luch to them I say ...... ooohhh I can;t wait for July .... its too far away

Re: Re O Lume

We really enjoyed our meal at O Lume and the service and Jaimes hospitality were faultless. We had a lovely meal and the trampo appertiser was delicious.

My only criticism was the very stark lighting and I wonder if this might deter people from going in..it did us the first couple of times . Maybe it's just me but atmospheric lighting and a few candles would have made a great evening that little bit more special.

Re: Re O Lume

Debz, as a remedy for the stark lighting, diners could wear sunglasses. I could just see a party of four, all sporting shades like the Beatles in their "Revolver/ Paperback Writer" days, picking at their food, with Jaime hovering. (The food, though, was brilliant.) Been there twice, and will surely return.:D

O'Lume

had great meal there last week
biggest steak for ages cooked to perfection
mrs s had the fried milk for desert
very unusual
no tonica light though ;)

Smiddy, LAST WEEK!!! Porque no llama (sorry for the poor spanish

It's getting busy but why oh why isn't it packed to the ceiling most nights?
If you haven't tried O'lume yet you are missing out on one of the best places in PP.
Add it to your "must try" list I promise you'll be adding it to your "must go" list for future visits. Tell him I sent you :eek

Take care.

It isn't as busy as it could be because for some reason they choose not to advertise with us & it is not that easy to find.

So if any of you do visit, & it's well worth it, do drop them a hint.

Thanks very much!

Webmaster.

Hi Pollensa
I will be going to see Jamie for a meal during this week and will mention the advert
I love this place, its just a pity it isnt busy but with an advert it will help.
Regards Keith
